Phillips 66 Rope & Cable Lube is made for the lubrication and preservation of wire rope and cables. Made with rust and corrosion inhibitors preserves and conditions hemp cores. And it it cut back with a volatile, non-chlorinated solvent for ease of application without heating.
The low viscosity and special wetting properties permit penetration to the core of the wire rope or cable. The solvent will then evaporate and leave a tough, semi fluid lubricant in the core of each wire strand.
Phillips 66 Cable Lube clings strongly and is not readily displaced by water. Reducing internal friction and wear between the wire strands is the result. At the same time the exterior coating protects, lubricates and cushions the cable round the sheaves and drums. The residual film will remain pliable even at low ambient temperatures.
Cable lube should be applied when the cable is flexing, as when it is going over a sheave. This will help with pushing the lubricant to the core and will permit more uniform coating of the wire strands.

- Wire ropes and cables
- Hoists, cranes and aerial tram-ways
- Logging and mining equipment
- Mill machinery
- Open and semi enclosed gears
- Guides and sliding surfaces
